After a glorious March we were all hoping for much of the same in April; unfortunately it didn’t turn out like that! Although it has been the wettest April on record for years, the golf course has stood up extremely well to the wet weather, with the course only closing on a handful of days.

Season Kicks Off with the First Medal of the Year

The golfing season officially started last weekend with the first Medal of year. On an extremely windy and a wet afternoon scoring conditions were tough to say the least; standard scratch went from 69 up to 72. Big congratulations to the following winners of each division:

Winners
Division 1 - John Beardsley: net 69
Division 2 - Fraser McKay: net 68
Division 3 - Nigel Clarke: net 65
Division 4 - Daniel Barlow: net 70

Bill Pitts Trophy
The previous weekend, on Saturday 21st April, the Bill Pitts Trophy was played. This was open to all members aged 50 years and over and was won by Tim Morris with a net score of 63! Congratulations to Tim for winning the Bill Pitts and bringing his handicap down!

This week it is the Callaway Demo Day on Thursday 3rd May from 12pm - 6pm and the Cobra Demo Day on Friday 4th May from 12 - 6pm.
