An all-American affair Xander Schauffele showed U.S. Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk exactly what he was missing at Le Golf National, as he pulled off a stunning play-off victory at the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai. Schauffele clawed back a three-shot deficit to fellow American Tony Finau, making birdies on the final two holes to force a play-off, before making another birdie at the first sudden-death hole to win his third PGA title. Schauffele was named 'Rookie of the Year' in the 2016-17 season, and is proving his credentials once again this year, despite switching equipment manufacturers at the start of the season. If you’re also thinking of a move away from your current set of clubs, come down to the shop and we’ll get you fitted down to every last detail! Request a fitting here. |
Preferred lies Now that the clocks have gone back and we find ourselves edging towards winter, many golf courses will have introduced a Local Rule for 'Preferred Lies'. When this is in force, it allows you to mark, clean (especially important if your ball is covered in mud like in this photo) and place your ball within six inches of where it has come to rest, providing it was on a closely mown area - i.e. the fairway. If you're unsure on this or any other rule, please come and speak to a member of the pro shop team. |

Winter is coming, but we know that won't prevent you avid golfers getting out on the course to face biting winds, muddy shoes and, most of all, rain. Lots and lots of rain. With this in mind, it's more important than ever to have a golf bag which will keep your clubs and belongings dry during a downpour. |
Introducing Titleist's StaDry Deluxe This is where a cart bag like the StaDry Deluxe comes into play. You'll certainly be keeping your valuables dry if you opted to upgrade your golf bag to this offering over the winter thanks to Titleist’s StaDry waterproof technology, which ensures maximum coverage from the rain during your round. Weighing in at 2.9 kgs, it's also incredibly lightweight, making it easy to lift to and from the car boot to your trolley.
