Members’ Accounts - Financial Year End Account Clearance

It’s that time of year again!

Can all members who have credit and prize winnings on their Professional Shop accounts please clear this by no later than the 28th February 2019.

All prize winnings and vouchers need to be cleared off as it is the Golf Club’s financial year end on the 28th February and all accounts have to be cleared.

Members 2019 Subscriptions

Your 2019 Membership Bill is ready to collect from the office; the subscription year is from 1st March 2019 to the 28th February 2020.

Subscriptions must be paid no later than the 31st March 2019, if you pay by the 1st March you will receive an additional £10.00 credit applied to your Bar Card.

Should you wish to resign your Membership please inform the Office in writing by the 28th February 2019.

Coming soon: Callaway Epic Flash

This time two years ago, we were sitting here in fascination as Callaway introduced Jailbreak Technology for the very first time. Safe to say that the Epic driver was exactly that - epic - and produced major distance gains for the majority of golfers who were custom fitted for one. Fast forward to now and Callaway is bringing Epic Flash to market, which they say has a 'radically different face design' that will promote faster ball speeds and, in turn, greater distance.

Are new clubs the key?

It was the perfect start to 2019 for world number one Justin Rose, as he won the Farmers Insurance Open by three shots at Torrey Pines to claim his tenth victory on the PGA Tour. Rose, who has switched club manufacturers this season, showed no signs of rustiness as he drove and putted superbly throughout the week, with every round in the 60s. He had a brief wobble in the final round, with three bogeys in his opening five holes, but his nearest challenger in Adam Scott was unable to capitalise.

Whilst there would have been some eyebrows raised at Rose’s decision to switch up the clubs in his bag having just reached the pinnacle of golf, his victory shows that even the world’s best can keep on finding ways to improve their game through a change of gear in the bag.
