Where do we even start?
Where does that Open rank for you in terms of excitement? The tournament started on a bit of a downer with the news Rory McIlroy had withdrawn because of injury, and when the high winds forced this great championship into an extra day, we were left wondering whether we'd get that Open drama we all crave. Well, we did - and then some.
True, Zach Johnson was probably not the winner many of us wanted, but he was a worthy champion and showed immense bottle, especially on the back nine, and real class in the play-off. What was so absorbing were the many subplots: Jordan Spieth's heroic effort to make it three Majors in a row on his quest for the Grand Slam, Marc Leishman's final-day charge following a rollercoaster year that nearly saw him quit the game after his wife was diagnosed with myopathy, and Sergio Garcia's pursuit for that elusive first Major. Oh yeah, the amateurs weren't bad either…
The 144th Open Championship has provided enough talking points for the 19th hole for a good several months, that's for sure. Many of you will have been impressed by some of the shots that were pulled off by the world's elite players. In August, we will be running a few 'Group Coaching Sessions' and 3 'Short Game Clinics'.
The 'Group Coaching Sessions' will run over a 4 week period, details below:
Thursday Evenings starting on the 6th August (6th, 13th, 20th & 27th) at 18.00pm - 19.00pm.
Saturday Mornings starting on the 1st August (1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd at 9.00am - 10.00am or 10.00am - 11.00am
The Group Coaching block is at a cost of £30.00 per person for 4 x 1 Hour Sessions, the 4 coaching sessions will cover; Putting, Chipping, Bunker Play and Full Swing. The sessions are limited numbers and on a first come first serve basis.
'Short Game Clinics'
The short game is the most important aspect and yet the most neglected aspect in golf! Having a good Short Game can be the difference from playing off a high handicap to single figures! We are going to run 3 Short Game Clinics during August with the main focus on Chipping, Putting and Pitching, details below;
Sunday 9th August : 10.00am - 11.30am : Chipping / Bunker
Sunday 16th August : 10.00am - 11.30am : Putting
Sunday 23rd August : 10.00am - 11.30am : Pitching
The cost per Short Game Clinic is £10.00 , numbers are limited and on a first come first serve basis.

PING Iron Fitting Day
On Thursday 30th July from 1pm - 5pm we are hosting a PING Iron Fitting Day. On show will be PING's latest product range.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work out if your clubs and swing make the perfect match and how a new set of irons could make the important change to your game.
You will be able to turn up on the day and test out the new irons, I am also taking Custom Fittings which will be 30 minutes.

Mizuno Fitting Day
On Thursday 20th August from 1pm - 5pm we are hosting a Mizuno Fitting Day. On show and available to test will be all the latest Mizuno JPX Woods and Irons. You are able to just turn up and try out the equipment at your own leisure, we are however taking bookings for Custom Fittings which will be 30 minute slots.
